Alfarag first entered the retail business with the opening of our store in Dire Dawa in 1932. Over the years, we have expanded significantly, opening multiple retail shops and relocating to Addis Ababa in 1965. Throughout our growth, we have continuously improved our product offerings, services, and store environments to ensure a flawless and enjoyable shopping experience for our customers.

Today, Alfarag’s oldest active retail store is the Alfarag shop in Mercato, the largest open-air market in Africa. This store has stood the test of time, surviving numerous challenges and serving our customers for decades.
