In August 1928, the Maharaja of Patiala walked through the doors of 26 Place Vendôme, accompanied by his servants carrying six chests of precious stones, including 7571 diamonds and 1432 emeralds. He entrusted Boucheron with the task of creating an exceptional set of 149 pieces with these thousands of diamonds, rubies, and emeralds from his treasure.
